Our Mission
The mission of Tumaini Children's Home (Be Their Hope Ministry) is to rescue orphans and equip them with the necessary skills to thrive while teaching them about the love of God.
Our Home
Tumaini Children's Home is located in Busia County, Kenya. Currently, we have a total of 78 children, ages 3 to 16. Volunteer staff includes 2 security guards & their wives, 3 aunties, and our director, Kennedy, and his wife, Christine.
Our Ministry
Be Their Hope Ministry provides for the needs of the children and staff at Tumaini Children's Home under the direction of Kennedy Mjaba. What started with a simple phone call and a plea for help has grown into a 501-3c nonprofit organization that provides hope and a future for rescued children.

Our Director
Once an orphan myself, I was rescued and began school at age 10. At age 15, I accepted Jesus into my life and began teaching Sunday school. There I began to feel compassion for street children and provided food to orphans. In 2016, I graduated from East African University, and I opened Tumaini Children's Home.

In 2017, I met a missionary from Independence, Kansas, who helped us with food, rent, beds, mosquito nets, and so much more. In 2018, she unexpectedly passed away, but not before introducing us to Breeze Jones and Yvonne Bridges of Elk City, Kansas. This connection helped further establish a path in continuing OUR HOME, OUR MINISTRY, OUR MISSION.
